The visual contrast between the lightness of the design and the actual stability of the table is in itself, vividly compelling. This notion is seen in the distinction of materials used, whereby the primary role of the stainless steel rod is to ensure stability, whilst being decorative and airy.
Salih's design is based on a harmonious relationship with proportions, elevated to its pinnacle, thus creating an impression that he possesses an innate sense of beauty as well as an intuitive understanding of what makes a product aesthetically appealing. This stems from his rich creative portfolio, where various experiences from architecture, design, and art, converge.
He approaches wood, his favourite material, almost sculpturally, while never neglecting the technological logic of its craftsmanship and always showing immense respect for traditional woodworking techniques.
Salih’s design aesthetic in his approach to furniture design, has remained faithful to the golden era of modernism, exemplifying the classic mastery of 20th-century designers. Undoubtedly, he stands as one of the pioneers of the contemporary Bosnian design scene.
Since 2004, Salih has been imparting his knowledge of industrial design to the younger generations as a professor at the Department of Product Design, at the Academy of Fine Arts, in Sarajevo. As a result, he has been a mentor to other designers within the Gazzda design team, guiding them as they took their initial steps into the world of design.

If you are old enough to remember your kitchen floor from the 1960's or 70's chances are it would have had a 'Lino' floor surface.
Like many things we didn't appreciate enough in our past that Lino surface was way ahead of it's time.
Lino had obvious durability, it was after all marketed as a floor surface.
But many of its other features, not least its tactile surface and inherent matt nature, were somewhat over-looked at the time.
Fast forward half a century and Lino is back, but this time higher up, where we can see and feel its deserved presence.
For Linoleum the 'leum' in the name might confuse, conjuring up thoughts of 'petro' products, but in reality it is the Lino part that defines its nature - Linseed.
Linoleum is made out of exclusively natural ingredients. Plants, trees and minerals provide the raw materials that combine to make linoleum.
From the linseed oil and pine rosin that bind the ingredients together to the jute backing on which they lie, almost all are renewable.
The result is a furniture surface as natural and beautiful as it is resilient and recyclable.
Furniture Linoleum delivers a combination of a satin matt surface with a warm, fine texture creating interior furniture with a truly distintive, genuinely individual look and feel that really is unlike any other surface material available.
At Casa e Jardim we are delighted to be able to offer products using Forbo Furniture Linoleum on our Gazzda range of products.
Forbo's Furniture Linoleum applies the finishing touches to Gazzda furniture designs including tables, sideboards, tv units and bedsides. Its flexible material offers an ideal surface on all kinds of constructions. Renowned for its elegance and durability, Furniture Linoleum radiates finesse and high quality.
Forbo’s all-natural composition and special surface finish means Furniture Linoleum is naturally antistatic. This is an important practical advantage over other furniture finishes as the surface resists build-up of static charges. This helps prevent dust or dirt sticking to it and ensures the material remains unblemished, hygienic and clean.
