The synthetic rattan used in Point products is a proprietary product call Shintotex®.
Inspired by the beauty and resilience of nature, Shintotex® is much more than a synthetic fiber; it is the result of years of research and development to offer the highest quality in comfort, functionality, and durability.

The secret of Shintotex® lies in its meticulously designed composition. With a combination of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), together with catalyst components such as UV filters, pigments, antistatic agents, and plasticizers, Shintotex® offers exceptional resistance to weather changes, abrasive chemicals, and deterioration, ensuring a long service life even in the most demanding conditions.

The rope used in our POINT collections is made from high-quality polyester yarn, specially designed for intensive outdoor use. Its structure offers excellent resistance to solar radiation, humidity, and wind, maintaining its mechanical and aesthetic properties intact even after prolonged exposure.

With high light fastness (rating 7 out of 8), this rope retains its color without alteration over time thanks to its UV protection. Flexible and resistant, it guarantees a high level of comfort in seats and backrests, as well as adding a distinctive character to each design.

Aluminum is a key material in outdoor furniture due to its lightness, structural strength, and excellent corrosion resistance. Its performance is enhanced by powder coating, a process that involves applying a dry, uniform coating that adheres to the metal through electrostatic charges and is then baked in a high-temperature oven.

This finish not only reinforces the aluminum's protection against scratches, impacts, and wear, but also acts as a barrier against UV radiation, humidity, and atmospheric agents. Thanks to this technology, greater durability and optimal color retention are achieved, even in coastal environments or under extreme weather conditions.

We love wood at C&J. Wood predominates in our interior ranges.
For the outdoors, especially in the Algarve climate wood is a more complex choice.
We have certified Sapele wood which whilst a little costly is wonderful for legs. We have teak in many ranges and it is tactile and warm but it carries a high degree of maintenance.
