Rattan is a natural material rich in nuances and imperfections. Even though all the raw material is carefully selected and calibrated before shipping, knots or slight colour differences may appear in the same piece as variations are inherent to natural materials. Rattan pieces are finished with a three step water-based coating (dye, base coat and top coat) highly resistant to solar radiation thanks to UV filters. It also incorporates biocide agents in order to protect rattan from microorganisms. However, its prolonged exposure to the elements (direct sunlight, rain, snow, etc.) is strongly discouraged.
