Globus chair is a light stackable chair with a refreshingly original design.
The curved shape of both chair backrest and seat offer an exceptionally comfortable seating position. The expressive, even voluptuous lines of the whole chair are beautifully crafted and smoothly integrated to constitute a design that looks perfectly finished from every angle.
The metal structure is available in chromed-steel or stainless steel, with well-finished smooth curves and quality fittings.
The seat and backrest are made of veneered multiply, finished in natural wood, wood lacquered or in polypropylene.
The seat can also be upholstered with fabric or eco-leather.
The indoor frame is proposed in matt or shiny chrome or lacquered in white or black.
The outdoor frame is made of matt stainless steel.
SOLID COLOURS: Globus chair has now 6 unique colours specially developed so that they can be mixed around one table. The colours can be arranged with a pale palette. Mix them following your own personal taste. Options now are endless. Colours: white, light pink, green, stone, taupe, and black.
Jesús Gasca is the founder and principal designer of STUA, a contemporary furniture company based in the resort town of San Sebastían, Spain. STUA prides itself on producing a limited range of furniture, with each piece exquisitely executed out of the finest materials.The style of the work can be characterised as Scandinavian with a Mediterranean touch. The company’s mission is “to improve the habitat in which we live, by refining our designs, and using recyclable components and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.” Contemporary pieces of high technology and simple shapes. Always thinking about the function objects have to have, but with shapes that are new and as close to the user as possible.
STUA which Gasca founded in the early ’80s, has allowed him to develop his own work as a furniture designer. Trained as an engineer, Gasca specialises in technically complex design with attention to detail. Gasca’s recent designs include the Onda stool, Globus Chair, Sapporo Shelving System, Gas Chair and the Deneb Collection.
He has also collaborated with Josep Mora to create the classic Egoa chair that won the Innovate Design Melbourne prize in 1988. Gasca has received the most importat design awards for the Gas chair.
The STUA company has been awarded the National Design Award. The most important recognition to a design company in Spain.

The evolving Globus chair backrest has a hole in the centre making the chair lighter and easy to carry.
The metal frame supports the backrest, making the chair extremely robust.
The seat & back can be made in plywood or polypropylene.
The plywood version of the Globus chair is for indoor use. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests. The wood has acrylic finish.
The plastic colours have been selected to blend harmoniously.
The frames of Globus are made with Ø16 mm tube:

- matt chrome steel (indoor)
- black painted steel (indoor)
- white painted steel (indoor)
- matt stainless steel (outdoor)
The front part of the seat is curved downwards for comfort and good circulation.
The seat of the Globus chair can be upholstered with any fabric from the STUA Kvadrat collection or ecoleather.
Globus is certified to be used in environments with heavy public use.
As many as 6 units of the Globus chair can be stacked on the floor.
STUA offers a trolley on which up to 20 units can be stacked.
